about

Unfortunately, Susanne got sick during the course of Song Fu. Still, we managed to produce this driving pop song. The challenge was to write a song about a number.

lyrics

I was thinking of you just the other day
And I wanted to call but didn't know what to say
I dug out the tapes that we used to play
Before you went away
Before you went away

It seems like yesterday we we're reaching for the stars
We had our special way when driving in our cars
It seems like yesterday you were standing at my gate
While in reality it was 1998

We were queens in command with the world at our feet
We were facing the cold and defying the heat
And you told me your secrets on a stormy night
When I was by your side
When I was by your side

It seems like yesterday we were dancing late at night
While I was still afraid you looked me in the eye
It seems like yesterday I was begging you to stay
Yet in reality it was 1998

You promised me you'd never let me fall
Come hell or high water

Who's to say they're sorry, who's to blame for it all
And why you let me fall
Why did you let me fall?

It seems like yesterday we were dancing late at night
While I was still afraid you looked me in the eye
It seems like yesterday you were standing at my gate
Yet in reality it was 1998
